About me
Dr. Sandy Arteaga is a seasoned educator and education leader with more than three decades of impact across K–12 schools, higher education, and education-focused organizations. Holding a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from East Carolina University, she has built a career centered on expanding access, improving outcomes, and driving systemic change in education.
Most recently, as Dean of Education and Principal of the Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College, Dr. Arteaga led the school to be ranked the #1 9th–12th charter school in Florida by the Florida Charter School Institute, while growing enrollment by 88%, from 285 to 535 students. She launched innovative A.S. degree programs in Engineering and Information Technology with an AI focus, secured federal grant funding including an NSA GenCyber award, and created new credentialing and career-readiness pathways for students.
Her career spans roles as a classroom teacher, university professor, federal grants specialist, school inspector for the Government of Dubai, and business development leader in education giving her a uniquely broad perspective on how education systems work and how they can be improved. She has managed multi-million dollar budgets, led state accreditation visits, written and executed federal grants, and presented to school boards and government bodies at every level.
Now serving as Partnership Growth and Development Manager at ISTE+ASCD, Dr. Arteaga brings her expertise in relationship-building, strategic planning, and workforce-aligned education to support the growth of partnerships that advance learning nationally. She is a recognized community leader, a Florida Charter School Institute Founding Fellow, and a longtime advocate for students, teachers, and underserved communities.
