Participants will learn how trauma and adverse childhood experiences impact brain function, emotional regulation, and behavior. The session will explore the crisis cycle, early warning signs, and evidence-based de-escalation techniques, including the importance of educator self-regulation, tone, and relationships. Practical tools such as the Zones of Regulation, mindfulness strategies, and proactive interventions will be shared. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to create safer classrooms, reduce escalation, and support students in returning to a regulated state that promotes learning and emotional well-being.
